How to do a clean un-install of the QCharts software application.

To uninstall QCharts 5.x completely will take a few processes.

Before starting this removal process, please make sure that any workspaces, layouts, quote sheets, or any other custom files that you have saved are NOT saved in the "QCharts" installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Quote.com\QCharts 5.1\) - in this procedure we are getting ready to delete that directory and if you have workspace or other files in that directory or subdirectories they will be GONE! Make sure they live in another directory! Get them moved to safety before we go any further.

Step 1:
Make sure QCharts is not running.
Click "Start"

Then "Programs"

Then "Quote.com"

Then "CleanRegQCharts4" which will be inside that.

Answer "Yes" to the prompt "Do you want to do this now?" in order to clean the registry.

Step 2:
Go to your Control Panels.
Go to "Add/Remove Programs"
Remove "QCharts"

Step 3:

Clean up the directory.

1. Right click on the "Start" button and choose "Explore" from the menu.

2. On the lefthand side of the screen (in the folders) look under your "C" drive.

3. Locate the "Programs Files" folder, and click the "+" sign next to it to expand that folder.

4. Locate the "Quote.com" folder, under the "Program Files" folder.

5. Locate "QCharts" in the Quote.com folder

6. If there is only one instance of QCharts in the Quote.com folder, right click on the Quote.com folder and delete it. If there is more stuff in the Quote.com folder, it may be deleted as well as long as you know what you are deleting. If you are unsure, stop and ask for help.

7. Once the Quote.com folder has been deleted, the directory for QCharts and Quote.com has been removed.

Step 4:

Now on to final registry cleanup:

1. Left click on the "Start" menu and choose "Run" from the menu that flies up.

2. Type the following in the box: REGEDIT This will launch the registry editor.

3. Locate on the lefthand side of the screen the folder that reads: HKEY_CURRENT_USER

4. Click the + sign next to that folder to expand it.

5. Locate the folder in there that says "SOFTWARE"

6. Click the + sign next to that folder to expand it.

7. Locate the Quote.com folder in there (if it is present).

8. Highlight the Quote.com folder, right click on it and delete it from the menu that flies up.

9. Close the registry editor.

Removal of QCharts v5 is now complete.
